Kings' Art Exhibition at DUCTAC

On Monday 15th December Kings' celebrated the opening of the Art Exhibition at DUCTAC at Mall of the Emirates.
The amazing thing about the gallery is that every pupil in school has their art work on display, and it looks simply sensational.

The Year 5 Paul Klee work demands attention with it's bold, bright colours and interesting designs.

What do you think of the art work?

Have you been to visit the gallery yet?

How does it feel to have your artwork on display in a public gallery?

Mr Watson managed to grab some of 5Jw to have their photos taken next to their fantastic artwork.

Which other work do you like the most? Which artist inspires you?

National Day - 5JW in the desert

On Monday 1st December 2008 all of the KeySatge 1&2 classes took Kings'Dubai into the desert for the day.

We has a great day and did lots of different activties, including:
  • ran up a dune
  • had a camel ride
  • had henna tattoos
  • played inter-house team games of quick rounders (with Mr Whitehead)
  • had tug of war competitions (and snapped the rope!!!)
  • eat a delicions BBQ and Arabic meal
  • listned to Arabic stories (with Mrs Lana)
  • played parachute games
  • descrived and observed the desert
  • drove in 4x4's to get to and from the camp
  • had a whole school assembly in the middle of the desert! (we also sang 'Rudolph the Red Nose reindeer' - a very strange experience - no snow, only sand!)
We really enjoyed our day.

Zac's QE2 Post

Wednesday 26th November 2008
Whilst 5 JW were visiting the Bauhaus art gallery - Zac was having a visit elsewhere - to see the arrival of the QE2 to Duabi.

The trip on the boat to see the QE 2 was fun. The QE 2 is a famouscruise ship built in Scotland in 1968.

On the way home I felt a bit seasick because it was rough from over 100 boats. I saw Sheik Mo's massive boat, a Navy boat and a gun boat with a big machine gun on the back.

When I went past the QE 2 there was 1,800 passengers on the deck.Up above there was the new Airbus 380 plane flying low. I saw a helicopter land on a navy ship. This was the last ever voyage beforeshe becomes a floating hotel on the Palm, where it is hoped she will rest for another 50 years.

There is a common English word that is nine letters long.
Each time you remove a letter from it, it still remains
an English word - from nine letters right down to a single letter. Eloise
What is the original word, and what are the words that
it becomes after removing one letter at a time?
