Angela's Talent Star song

Hi guy's,it's Angela, if you would like to know the words for my song 'Talent Star' then theese are the words!!!

You look at the cold dark sky above you.

I'm gonna skate on the ice.

And everything changes when i just come along.

CHORUS

Come and reach that talent star.

I know that it's not that far.

Just 2 more steps then you'll see,

that you are flying with me.

That star can shine in the sky.

That star can shine on your eye.

Just come and fly with me,

into infinity.

Don't even think about missing me,

when i'm only 1 pace away, away, away.

Don't even think about hugging me,

more than 10 seconds, 10 seconds, 10 seconds.

I'm gonna reach that star.

CHORUS

Come and reach that Talent Star.

I know that it's not that far.

Just 2 more steps then you'll see,

that you are flying with me.

That star can shine in the sky.

That star can shine on your eye.

Just come and fly with me, into infinity

The Sarah Jane Adventure Review - Becky's review

The Sarah Jane Adventures

The Sarah Jane adventures is a BBC DVD series I got for christmas. It is about a lady called Sarah Jane who used to work with Doctor Who.
She carries on her life dealing with aliens and along the way meets Luke (left), Clyde (right) and Maria (bottom left) who moved in over the road.
Here are some of the Sarah Jane adventure:Invasion of the bane, Revenge of the Slitheen,Eye of the Gorgon,Warriors of Kudlak, Whatever happened to Sarah Jane? and The lost boy. I would recommend this dvd so if you see it I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Kristi is ready to Riddle!

This is my riddle

A man has to take a dog, cat, mouse & some cheese for the king across a river.
He can only take one animal across at a time.
If he takes the mouse, the dog will eat the cat.
If he takes the dog the cat will eat the mouse.
But if he takes the cat the mouse will eat the cheese
and he won't have a present for the king.
What can he take across first?

The first 5 people to get it right get a prize

My Holiday: A Trip to Gold Reef City

During the families recent Christmas holiday vacation to South Africa, my friend Storm and I went to?Gold Reef City in Johannesburg.

We went on a ride called the Jozi Express roller coaster.
Before lunch we went on the Big Wheel called the Giant Wheel Ferris wheel, it kept on swaying, forwards and backwards so it's good we had nothing to eat before...
Later that afternoon we tried the Miner's Revenge thrill ride, fortunately it never went upside down.

Before calling it a day, we sat down and relaxed with an ice cream.

Lauren's Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve at Ski Dubai!

On Christmas Eve we went to the Ski Dubai snow park but first we had to go to the ski shop to get gloves for me and my Mum.

Then we went and got our suits, boots and helmets. When we were about to go into the snow park I spotted Matthew Styles from my class, but he didn’t see me. Once inside the snow park it was FREEEEEZZZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had a look around first because it was my mum’s first time, then we went tobogganing around the ice slide.

When we went round the corner and I got a great big fat snowball in my face from Matthew, so I threw one back.

Then I went down the big slide at the end of the snow park, I went on it loads of times so did my Mum and Dad! Then whilst my brothers were on a mini ride Matthew, I and Harry from year 4, were having a massive snowball fight! Then it was time to leave, however we had lunch there and a hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream on top!

Then we went home exhausted we had more fun than we had expected!

Lauren's Holiday report

My Holiday - A day at the Beach!

In the holidays we went to the beach and had a BBQ, with our friends Stuart, Kelly, Lara, Frazer, Alan and Julie and Jos the dog! We had loads of fun!

Whilst we were playing my Dad and Stuart were cooking the chicken and sausages. Unfortunately the chicken had silver paint all over it because it had come off the brand new grill. Thankfully our friends let us cook our sausages on their BBQ.

After lunch me, Lara, Frazer and my brothers went exploring and discovered loads of things such as.... fish guts, 2 fish heads, fish skin, fish tails, and loads of shrimps, cuttlefish and a baby octopus!!!!! When we showed them to our parents they were surprised and didn’t want us to come to close!

Then Stuart, Kelly, Lara and Frazer came back to our house for Dinner but before that we had to have a shower, then we watched a DVD to wait for the pizza to come, YUMMY!
Finally we had dinner, it was OK.

Then the fun began! My brothers, me, Lara and Frazer went to my bedroom and stated singing and dancing to POP PARTY UNTIL nine something then we had to say goodbye to them!
But we had so much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Hamster by Becky

My Hamster

My hamster is called Treasure. He is a Dwarf Russian Winter White which means he is small for a hamster and in the winter he is white but in the summer he is grey. The Dwarf Winter White Russian originates from Eastern Kazakhstan and South West Siberia where it lives amongst grassy steppes.

The Dwarf Winter White Russian Hamster is the least common of the two species of Dwarf Russian Hamster kept as pets and is therefore rarely seen in pet shops. I got him for my 8th birthday and I chose him because he was the only hamster in the pet shop who came up to the window of his cage to greet me.

He eats a special dry mixture especially for dwarf hamsters which includes raisins, nuts, corn curnels, sunflower seeds and edible pellet things. I also sometimes give him apple or carrot as a treat. I have to clean his cage every week when I have to give him more food, change the flooring (which are also pellets), change the soft bedding in his little house and change his water (even though I do it every day).

Treasure is very sociable and loves to be picked up and cuddled. For exercise he goes in a ball since strangely, he doesn't use his wheel. He only uses to sit on and stuff his face. It's very funny when he starts doing acrobatics on the bars of his cage. He does the monkey bars and sometimes falls of at the least expected times. Treasure is in my room and sometimes in the night he starts trying to pull his food bowl down stairs. He is also a very could chewer and he chewed a big hole in is log! He is very cute and I love having him as my pet.

Lucy tells us about her trip to Vienna

At the beginning of December me and my mum, dad and sister Chloe went to Vienna to see the Christmas markets.

In Vienna there were lot's of markets and my favourite was at the Rathaus.
One of my favourite stands was the candle one because I liked to see the different shaped candles.

My favourite candle is the monkey because it was very cute. I also got a candle making kit so I can make my own candles. There was a Gluhwien stool, which is a hot alcoholic drink, which when I stood near the stall I warmed up! I had some money I could spend so I brought some things, a wooden wood pecker, from the wooden toy stall. And 2 Christmas presents.

We went in the evening so the lights were on and it looked very pretty and magical.
Sometimes there was a band playing so it was musical and they played very well.

At the Rathaus market there was some little houses with activities and funny things!! In one house there was a mechanical family playing instruments. The mum on violin, dad on recorder, boy on guitar, girl on plate, grandad on keyboard and grandma spinning the DJ disks!!
I really enjoyed going to the markets!

Tom's Christmas accident

On the 25 December/Christmas Day, I did a thing I am to be ashamed of.
We were in the mountains of Wadi Al Bih with my cousins and I was making a bow. I was cutting a piece of wood off with my Dad’s sharpest pocket knife (leatherman) and suddenly slipped and cut clean through my brothers skin and tendon of his thumb. The blood was pouring all over the floor and Mum and Dad had to take him to 2 hospitals in Ras Al Kaimer.

When Mum and Dad came back Mum then had to take Sam all the way to Dubai to have an operation to fix up his thumb and they then stayed at home eating pasta and cheese for their Christmas dinner. When Sam came back the next day I asked if I could see his thumb. It had strings like wire threaded around it to hold it all together. 1 week later they took the stitches out and it now looks fine. I missed my Mum and Sam that night but Barney (our dog) was very happy!

I am now looking forward to football finals day and hope we will win.

TOM WEIGHT

Luke hits the target!

One of the most exciting things I did on my holiday was that I got toshoot an air rifle.
We went to my cousin's house in Zululand, SouthAfrica and he has one. He is 20 years old. He put up a target on atree for him and I to aim at.
An air rifle works like a gun but the difference is that the leadpellet doesn't get knocked out by a hammer. It gets blown out by avery strong burst of air. The pellets are quite small and the one endis hollow.
The shooting was really, really fun because I like the feel of the gunin my hands. It was really hard to aim at the target because when youtry and aim your hand wobbles alot. I hit the target with my firstshot but it was out of bounds. When you pull the trigger there is alittle push against your shoulder and a bit of noise as the leadpellet shoots out.It was an amazing experience !

My Homework

On Sunday 28 December 2008 I got to do a master class with five times world champion 200m butterfly swimmer James Hicman. He gave us some good advise and some helpful hints to make us better swimmers.

He shown us how to streamline to make us go further under water, the way he explained it was a good streamline is as straight as uncooked spagetti and a bad streamline is like cooked spagetti.

Another helpful hint he told us is that when you dive if you try to go to far and you know you can't do it you'll make a big splash causing resistance in the water where as if you dive as far as you know you can the dive will be smoother causing less resistance and the quicker you will go.

A good fact he told us about the heart and lungs was that the longer you could stay underwater the stronger and healthier the heart and lungs will be.One of the older boys doing the class managed to stay underwater for 50m (2 lengths) this put James Hicman under pressure but he mangaged to do 65m!! (2 and a half lengnths.)

After the master class he answered a lot of questions and told us all about his experience when he was in the olympics. He told us to always aim high with our goals in life,he also told us that when he was in the olympics he spent a lot of time on the toilet!!!!!!!!

A great thing he taught us was how to celebrate which is very important when you achieve your goals!!!

Christmas day at Eloise's house

On Christmas day I woke up at 5:00 knowing it was Christmas. I ran around down stairs like a lunatic until I walked the wall. ( it really hurt)
I woke up the rest of the family until all of the Bolts were unrapping presents under the tree.
My favourite presents were: my iPod nano (green), My stripey underwear, my books ( my fav: a boy a bubble and a whole lot of trouble) and a computer game.
My little sister Leila thought it was fantastic especially the opening presents part! We had no family or friends over for christmas morning. I think everyone agrees, but I love Christmas!!

Jemima's Holiday News

We went on a awesome skiing holiday to Austria. We had to sit on an aeroplane for seven hours which was very boring. When we got there we stayed for one night in a hotel in Switzerland. We went in a car up the mountain to St Anton in Austria. The view was brilliant.

In the chalet there were three teddy bears for me and my sisters. I got the yellow one.

There was loads of snow and I could not wait to go skiing. On the first day I went to ski school which was fun. I made a good friend called olivia who had a funny brother called ben.

My favourite part of ski school was going on a forest run full of jumps and bumps.

When we got back to the chalet Struan the cook had made us choocolate brownies and they were delicious.

My teacher in ski school was called Angela.

After ski school we could ski back to the chalet. Once my Dad took me on the wrong run and got us lost. The piste machines were coming up the hill and we were quite scared. It was dark by the time we got back so I only had five minutes tp play out in the snow.

On christmas eve we left santa some brandy and some of struans cookies. On CHRISTMAS DAY there was a bag of presents for me and my sisters. My favourite present from santa was a little rat called cheese. He is very cute.

My favourite present from my mum and dad was an ipod which is pink and a game for my nintendo.

Soon we had to go home and I was sad to leave Struan. Daisy took some pictures of him as my mum and dad had lost their camera. On the way back the hostess gave me and my sisters a toy dog.

I had a wonderful holiday and would love to go to Austria again.
